Emergency Medical Preparedness & Response with Exercise

Course Length: 32 Hours

Description: Encompasses the medical management of contaminated patients.  An all hazards approach is emphasized.  Disaster management issues, specific to hospital operations, are discussed.  Upon completion of the written test, this course meets the AMEDD requirements for CBRNE Clinician Course for military Participants.  A Mass Casualty Exercise is conducted on the final day, incorporating medical and chemical personnel.

Target Audience: Students will include military and civilian medical and non-medical personnel who may be part of a disaster response team or employed by public or private sector healthcare organizations or related emergency services.

Prerequisites: All soldiers must meet height and weight standards IAW AR 600-9.  All soldiers must hold a MOS that is applicable to clinical care provided in a hospital.  The physical demand rating is moderate as physical stress occurs while wearing PPE.  Students must be able to lift 40 pounds. 

Required Equipment: Personal Protective Equipment, Protective Mask, Light work gloves, Uniform is seasonal BDE. PT Uniform for military personnel.  Shorts and T-shirt for civilians. Shower Shoes.  Please notify training site if students are unable to bring the own PPE.
